Philadelphia native Lauren Moffatt graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a Fine Arts Degree. Drive by her knack for prints and love for all-things vintage, she always knew she wanted to pursue fashion design.
At the age of 24, Moffatt left her job as a graphic designer and moved to New York City to pursue her dream. In October of 2000, she and business partner, Rob Pepin, who met while at Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences, launched their first vintage-chic women’s ready-to-wear collection.
For the first two seasons, Moffatt sewed several hundred pieces at home on her 31-foot sailboat docked on New York’s Hudson River. Hedra Prue, the iconic NYC boutique was the first of many trend-setting boutiques to buy the collection. Lauren Moffatt has been named “designer to watch” by both WWD and Vogue.
